We ARE GOING HOME in less than a week!
We are set to have Evan released Tuesday April 3rd- He will finally be home after 8 months and 3 days in the hospital. The total? 248 days.
He will be coming home with a trach, feeding tube, oxygen, and a few medications and breathing treatments, as well as all the little things.
This weekend we'll be doing our final rooming in with all the equipment he's going home with.
Evan is ready. He's been doing so well with physical therapy- we're still working on speech therapy. He's playing a lot, which is so good to see.
We will be taking Evan for his first pediatrician check up the Wednesday after he's released. The next week, we'll be taking him for his physical therapy, speech therapy, etc, and should have him looked at by the people who check out his progress with the helmet.
So it's going to be busy- but how cool that we'll be home! :-)
I gotta go- Lots to do before that day comes. :-)
We are SO thrilled about the HOME date! I know you are counting down the days....as are we! I am looking forward to hearing about the different things Evan will get to experience for the first time...and ENJOY! Life is about to change dramatically for you, Carl and Evan! I want you to be sure and get video and all the photos you can of him doing "regular" kiddo-stuff. His eyes are going to be so full of "wonder"...and awe concerning things like seeing trees...for the first time...the SKY...having the wind in his face on a stroller-ride...natural-light instead of fluorescent light...WOW! Things other people take for GRANTED...you and Evan will see BEAUTY everywhere!! <3 Love, Love Love this...and cannot WAIT to visit Evan "at home"! Love y'all...kiss my grandson for me until I can come and collect some for myself <3
